Good morning, Testudo! We are cruising w/ our 6 1/2 & 8 yr.old sons for the 1st time. It'll be their 1st snorkeling trip. Which beaches are best to snorkel on our own from shore- Governor's beach by the Westin, Seven Mile beach near the Marriott or Eden's Rock? We will be here Feb. 14th, not sure if waters will be too rough or deep at ER. Looking for good lunch spots near one of these sites. We're doing NW's Stingray City. Coral Garderns & Starfish Point Tour in the morning. Will be ashore 8am-3pm, want to get in as much snorkeling as possible! Thank you!

Hi Kristie,
Out of the Governor's Beach section of Seven Mile Beach which has a small patch reef not far from shore, the Marriott's weather impacted (usually narrow) man-made reef balls or Eden Rock and it's good and close to port (no beach),but deep water +20ft conditions; I'd go with Governor's Beach. Eden rock is a better snorkel, but there's no beach.
Another option to consider is the Cemetery Beach section of Seven Mile Beach. No facilities nearby, but a nice stretch of beach and a larger area to snorkel.
The north shore and north sound (where SRC is) can get rough in the winter. Unless there is a store, the Seven Mile Beach side is usually calm.
