Hello All! We are spending a week in the Caymans and will be staying near Cemetery Beach. Looking for places to go that are suitable for a newer snorkeler and not a super strong swimmer (she is a tiny 12 year old but just learned to snorkel). My understanding is that Cemetery Beach requires a long swim out to the reef. We can drive anywhere on the island so open to suggestions for calm waters and vivid coral/fish.

The inshore area around Cemetery Beach is a fine place for her to get her fins wet and see plenty of fish (not much in the way of live coral).
I'd also suggest the patch reef off from the Governor's House near the Westin. You can park at the public Governor's Beach lot and the reef is about 200 yards straight out. It may sound like a long swim, but it is usually very calm and doesn't take much time.
Spotts Beach is great for seeing turtles if the water conditions are calm. There can be a slight current, even on clam days, but you'd need to confirm what it's like when on-site.
Rum Point also has the shallow cove off the Retreat and if she's game, the closer to shore drift route it pretty easy and has a lot to see.
