Below is a youtube link to some videos I took during our July 2-12th 2011 trip to Grand Cayman. I'm still going through all the stills I took, but will put some of those up soon. www.youtube.com/user/p59teitel#p/uThe videos were taken in 1080p 24fps, and may not load fast enough for smooth playback to watch in full HD - in that event, I suggest waiting until loading is complete.

P, Great videos! The HD image quality is really amazing. Impressed you followed the Nurse Shark. It took me a few shark encounters before I stopped hightailing it the opposite direction. Also, based on the size and tail structure I think the Burrfish may actually be a Porcupinefish.

Yeah, the HD is pretty good on this camera - it's not a $50K Sony sideline camera doing the NFL on CBS and it shoots at 24 fps and not video speed which makes panning a bit choppy, but for $350 I can't complain. And it looks even better as a straight feed from the camera on my 60" Pioneer monitor without youtube's compression algorithms. The nurse shark was way cool - although I'll certainly cop to my blood pressure spiking when I first saw it! I was surprised it let me swim as close as I did towards it before moving away, but then again I'm sure it knows it can put thirty feet between it and any annoying humans with two flicks of its tail. There was another one hanging around under a rock ledge near the dock at The Reef, but the water was too roiled to get any decent pics and I didn't want to disturb it by getting up close.

As a side note, if you want to get kids under the age of 10 interested in marine life, video of pooping parrotfish is the ticket!
