WE will be in Grand Cayman for a week starting this saturday. WE are staying near kimpton seafire in a condo, we will also be renting a car. Can you suggest close to shore snorkeling sites? 200 yard or 400 yards up and back seems far? Also what time of day is best for snorekling?

A few pots nearby along Seven Mile Beach that can provide some good marine life viewing potential closer to shore are: Cemetery Beach (north of the Kimpton), Governor's Reef off the Governor's residence near the Westin, Eden Rock/Devil's Grotto in the main George Town harbour and Cheeseburger Reef off of Burger King. Not much coral off of SMB, but you can see a lot of fish ad other creatures. A bit further (a car is needed) would be Smith Cove Bacadere and Spotts beach.
In these areas, anytime of day is fine for snorkeling.

Best snorkeling on East side between Bodentown and Wyndom?

Queen's Monument/Babylon Reef or Barefoot Beach.
